F

A letter like all the others? We don’t think so. First, both our names start with F, Felicitas and Franka. And second, and that’s more important, F is a letter people have connections with, about feminism, the f-word, friends forever and so on. For us the F somehow stands for complete freedom and fun. But we asked ourselves, where the F would lead us and what we could do with this letter. Not only from the conceptional view but also looking at the F as an object of typography and connect it to our associations.
That’s how we got started with the F Projects. Here you can get a preview of some of them.

Gothenburg (sweden) in June 2009. We start with a huge white F and a car. No destination – the F will lead us. We have to follow it wherever it takes us for five days. It gives us directions where to go through signs on the road on cars or through people that the F introduces us to.
And the F did a good job. It lead us crisscross trough sweden. We got to know a lot of interesting people, saw private homes, got a goldfish called Friedrich, saw the nature, empty houses and where never sure what would happen next. Also the F made us do things we normally wouldn’t dare to do.
The whole tour was documented by fotography and writing.

 

 

Return of the F to the wild

We took an F we had built the day before and went into the wild. We wondered how we could place the F in nature. About the contrasts and how they would affect each other.
Surprisingly the F liked nature quite well as did nature the F. It attracted wild animals and lead us the way through a deep mysterious forest not to get lost between the trees.
